Alliance Resource Fair and Generation “M”

On October 24, the Alliance held a professional resource fair at the Orchard Hill Church.  Thirty community and faith based organizations were present to provide support resources.  Dr. Walt Mueller, a national speaker on youth culture, and a panel of experts highlighted the days event.   The focus was on the influence of the media on contemporary youth culture.  This was an outstanding opportunity that we hope to repeat next year.  Contributions to help us bring back Dr. Mueller next year can be made on-line at the Alliance web site (click here to donate).

Other programs were held during the week for student leaders, parents and youth ministers. KDKA radio host, Marty Griffin and Shelly Duffy promoted the work of the Alliance.   This program was a partnership effort with Pastor Blocki of the North Hills Reformed Presbyterian Church.

Alliance Planning 2009-2010 Program Schedule

The Alliance has created a program guide and is sending the guide to Alliance member schools.  School districts will be asked to use a checklist to select Alliance programs that will be implemented in the 2009-2010 school year.  The survey is to be returned to the Alliance by December 15, 2008. The Alliance encourages districts to post selected programs on their Alliance school page and to post programs on the Alliance Calendar of Events.
