The Pennsylvania Addiction Project's goals are to raise public awareness of the chronic diseases of addiction and mental illness, to eliminate the stigma often associated with these topics, and to facilitate the recovery efforts of affected individuals and their families.  We will encourage the creation of a society in which effective rehabilitation treatment is available to anyone who desires help, and a society in which imprisonment is considered to be an unacceptable alternative to treatment of addiction and mental illness.  We will work to develop a broad base of members who will take action, both publicly and politically, and we will help to develop their leadership skills to advance the organization’s mission.
