Quaker Valley School District, with a total enrollment of 1,888, is a diverse,
suburban school district comprised of 11 boroughs and townships. It is located in
Allegheny County, 12 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The high school serves 606 students in grades 9 through 12 and has a 99%
graduation rate. Last year, 76% of Quaker Valley graduates went directly to fouryear
colleges and universities and 11% enrolled in post-secondary educational
programs. Students undertake a rigorous academic curriculum, with many
enrolling in Honors, College in High School, and Advanced Placement courses.
Vocational and technical courses are offered at Parkway Career and Technical
School. Students may elect to take these courses while completing required
courses for their diplomas at Quaker Valley. Quaker Valley requires the
Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) of students in grades 9, and 10 and
offers it to grade 11. In addition, we administer the SAT 10 Achievement test to
supplement Pennsylvania’s mandated test, the Pennsylvania System of School
Assessment (PSSA).
There are 158 students in the Class of 2008.
